Foundation Stone laid for the Sarwadham Halt Station between Kakni & Hansdiha Stations.

Sept 2025 : Marking a significant milestone in the journey toward improved regional rail infrastructure and passenger convenience, the foundation stone laying of New halt station at  Sarwadham located between Kakni and Hansdiha stations of Mohanpur – Hansdiha section under Asansol Division of Eastern Railway, was laid by Mr. Nishikant Dubey, Honourable Member of Parliament, in the esteemed presence of Mrs. Vinita Srivastava, Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol, along with other Senior Railway officials today (16.09.2025).

Mr. Nishikant Dubey, Honourable Member of Parliament, remarked that the new halt station will not only benefit passengers but also stimulate socio-economic activity, facilitate the movement of local goods and promote regional development and local business. He further added that the halt station, responding to a long-standing demand of local residents, will provide direct and convenient rail access to thousands of passengers, reducing dependency on distant stations and easing daily commutes for students, workers and traders alike.

The proposed Sarwadham Halt Station is to be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.34 Crores. A comprehensive development plan has been prepared for Sarwadham Halt to enhance passenger convenience and accessibility. As part of this initiative, a wide range of modern, commuter-friendly amenities are being planned for execution.

Key infrastructure features including waiting hall integrated with a ticket counter along with separate toilets for men and women to ensure hygiene & convenience. The platform will be developed to a high-level standard with provision of platform shed and sitting arrangements. To ensure a consistent and clean water supply there will be provision of water booth connected with water supply system. The passenger experience will be further improved by the installation of ceiling fans and lighting poles.

The foundation stone laying for Sarwadham Halt Station is not just the start of physical infrastructure—it is the laying of a pathway toward economic empowerment and better connectivity for thousands of residents in and around Sarwadham and nearby villages. After introduction of this Halt station, the improved transport will help in growth of education, health care and business opportunities in this area.
