394 ‘Namo Udyans’ to be developed in Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats across Maharashtra; ₹1 crore sanctioned for each park

Mumbai, Sept 2025 : The state government has decided to develop one park each under the special and new Nagar Panchayat–Municipality scheme in all municipal councils and nagar panchayats across Maharashtra. For this, a fund of ₹1 crore per park has been approved, and these parks will be named ‘Namo Udyan’, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced today. With this decision, a total of 394 ‘Namo Udyans’ will be developed across the state within a year. Shinde said this initiative is Maharashtra’s gift on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday.
Competitions will be held at the divisional level for these newly developed parks. Deputy CM Shinde further announced that prizes will be awarded to three municipal councils/nagar panchayats from each division.
In the ‘Namo Udyan’ competition, first, second, and third prize-winning local bodies will be given additional development funds of ₹5 crore, ₹3 crore, and ₹1 crore respectively.
