Governor Acharya Devvrat, CM Bhupendra Patel, and Health Minister attend the PM’s program virtually from Gandhinagar
Gandhinagar, Sept 2025: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the nationwide “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” campaign from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, addressing citizens with an inspiring speech. Governor Shri Acharya Devvratji, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, and Health Minister Shri Rushikesh Patel attended the event virtually from Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar.
On the occasion of the launch of the campaign, the Governor, CM, and Health Minister visited the free mega health check-up camp organised at Mahatma Mandir. At this mega camp, citizens will receive free examinations and guidance for heart disease, cancer, kidney issues, tuberculosis, dialysis, blood pressure, women’s health, eye, ear, nose, and throat-related conditions.
In Gujarat, the Health and Family Welfare Department and the Women and Child Welfare Department will run this nationwide campaign from September 17 to October 2. Under this initiative, the Health Department will provide health services on 14 different subjects for women and children, ranging from sub-centres to medical college hospitals.
Regarding the nationwide campaign starting today, approximately 141,037 camps have been planned in Gujarat, including 100,854 camps by Sub-Health Centres – Ayushman Arogya Mandir, 20,007 by Primary Health Centres, 5,590 by Urban Primary Health Centres, 9,971 by Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandir, and 4,615 by Community Health Centres.
Thus, the state will organise 10,849 specialist camps and 1,30,188 screening camps, providing citizens with free health services.
What services will be provided?
Services related to antenatal and postnatal care for mothers, immunization and child health services, adolescent health services including anemia and menstrual hygiene, services for non-communicable diseases like diabetes and blood pressure, screening and treatment for oral, cervical, and breast cancer, screening and treatment for sickle cell disease, tuberculosis, mental health, eye, ENT, and dental services, awareness on nutrition, body/organ donation awareness, geriatric (for senior citizens) care integrating AYUSH services, services related to Ayushman Bharat and Vay Vandana cards, blood donation camps, and other awareness programs will be provided.
Which tests will be provided free of cost?
During this fortnight, all government health institutions will offer free health-related services, including medical check-ups, screenings, diagnoses, laboratory tests, diagnostic tests, and radiological tests such as X-rays, sonography, MRI, and CT scans, at all medical camps. Additionally, tests prescribed by doctors at the camp during the 15 days will also be conducted free of charge within the specified time frame.
Moreover, mega blood donation drives have been organised at around 600 locations across the state, including Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
During these health services, the Health Minister urged all women in the state and their families to make full use of the camps.
At the program held at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, MP Shri Mayank Nayak, Gandhinagar District Panchayat President Smt. Shilpa Patel, MLA Smt. Reetaben Patel, MLA Shri Jayanti Patel, State Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi, Principal Secretary of Health Department Shri Dhananjay Dwivedi, Principal Secretary of Tribal Development Department Shri Shahmeena Husain, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Smt. Avantika Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Vikrant Pandey, Secretary of Women and Child Development Department Shri Rakesh Shankar, Commissioner of Health (urban) Shri Harshad Patel, and Commissioner of Health (Rural) Shri Ratan Kanwar, along with officials, employees, and a large number of citizens, were present.
