Haryana Government taking significant steps for women’s empowerment says PM

Chandigarh – Under the able leadership of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini Haryana government has taken several significant steps for women development and empowerment. These efforts aim not only to provide equal opportunities for women in the society but also to make them self-reliant economically, socially, and politically. Initiatives for gender equality, 50 percent reservation in Panchayati Raj institutions, upliftment through Self Help Groups, and steps to improve the sex ratio have marked significant progress in women’s empowerment.

Today, women in Haryana are actively advancing society and the state through their outstanding work in a variety of fields as a result of their efforts. Haryana’s women are setting new milestones in a variety of fields, including sports, industry, education, and agriculture with their perseverance and hard work.

Many women are actively contributing by joining self-help groups. They made significant contributions in the handloom industry, sewing, embroidery, and other handicrafts. Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, acknowledged this fact on his popular radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat.’ During the program, he mentioned the handloom industry in Rohtak district of Haryana and particularly praised the women of the ‘Unnati Self Help Group,’ who have taken steps towards economic self-reliance through their hard work and dedication.

Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, said that over 250 women associated with the Unnati Self Help Group are now trained in block printing and dyeing. This training has not only enhanced their skills but has also empowered them economically. These women are supporting their families by creating magic with colours on fabrics and have become a source of inspiration in society. The Prime Minister emphasised how these women have created a new identity with their confidence and hard work and their efforts have proven that if women work unitedly, they can overcome any challenge and become self-reliant.

The Prime Minister stated that the efforts of the Unnati Self Help Group are not only promoting the handloom industry but also making a positive contribution to the local economy. The Prime Minister encouraged women from other districts across the country to join similar groups and bring about changes in their lives.
