Union Minister Tokhan Sahu Inaugurates Seva Pakhwada in Tifra

Honours differently-abled individuals and distributes assistive devices

Raipur, Sept 2025 : Union Minister of State for Urban Development, Mr. Tokhan Sahu, inaugurated the Seva Pakhwada at the Government School for the Visually and Hearing Impaired in Tifra, Bilaspur. On the occasion of Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, he honoured winners among differently-abled participants of various events. The Social Welfare Department also distributed several assistive devices to empower persons with disabilities. The program was presided over by local MLA Mr. Dharamlal Kaushik.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Tokhan Sahu encouraged the differently-abled children. A total of 62 differently-abled persons and senior citizens were honoured. Certificates and medals were awarded to 17 winners of different competitions and 17 students who excelled in academic activities.

As part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations, rangoli, essay writing, and painting competitions were organized for differently-abled children, who participated with great enthusiasm.

On this occasion, Minister Tokhan Sahu personally handed over assistive devices and honours to beneficiaries, including 5 Braille kits, 5 hearing aids, and 10 smart canes.

Speaking at the event, he said that these devices would support the educational progress of differently-abled children. He assured that no differently-abled person in Bilaspur district would face a shortage of assistive devices.
