Serchhip ICDS Project and DPO Office Conduct Community Cleanup Drive

Serchhip, Sept 2025: As part of the ongoing observance of the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, the Serchhip ICDS Project and the District Programme Office (DPO) jointly organized a community cleanliness drive today at Sailiam locality in Serchhip town.

The staff of the ICDS Project and DPO carried out the activity under the theme “Cleanup drive of plastic waste material at public areas.” During the drive, they cleared and disposed of waste from roadsides and common spaces. The initiative involved around 30 participants, including staff from the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department in Serchhip. The collected waste materials were systematically transported and disposed of at designated dumping sites managed by the Local Administration Department (LAD).

The ongoing Rashtriya Poshan Maah celebrations, which continue until October 16, are being observed with a series of programs. The Serchhip ICDS Project and DPO are planning various awareness and educational activities to highlight the importance of balanced nutrition, healthy eating, and cleanliness. These programs are aimed at not only mothers and children but also adolescents and the wider community, to encourage the adoption of healthier habits and improved living conditions.
