Flood and Heavy Rain Victims in Agriculture to Receive Swift Assistance – Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s Assurance
Solapur, Sept 2025: Heavy rains and flooding from the Sina River have caused extensive damage to agriculture, homes, and livestock in Solapur district. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar assured that affected farmers will soon receive assistance from the state government.
Deputy CM Pawar inspected flood-affected areas in Kurti (Karmala taluka), Mungshi (Madha taluka), and Lamboti (Mohol taluka). MLA Narayan Aba Patil, Additional District Collector Monika Singh Thakur, Resident Sub-Divisional Officer Abhijeet Patil, Superintending Engineer of the Water Resources Department Dheeraj Sali, District Rehabilitation Officer Sushant Bansode, Tehsildar Jayshree Avhad, and District Planning Officer Dilip Pawar were also present.
Ajit Pawar stated that the heavy rains and floods have caused significant damage in many areas of Karmala, Madha, and Mohol talukas. He emphasized that the state government stands firmly with farmers. He instructed the administration to safely relocate citizens affected by floods, provide them with food, water, electricity, and medicines, and ensure that those whose crops were damaged receive immediate grain supplies.
The Deputy CM highlighted that the floods and heavy rains have caused extensive damage to crops such as urad (black gram), maize, soybean, and tur (pigeon pea), in addition to houses and livestock. He directed authorities to complete damage assessments for all affected parties promptly.
Due to the flood situation, a temporary rehabilitation center has been established at Mahamuni Mangal Karyalaya on Sangoba Road, Karmala, for displaced citizens. Deputy CM Pawar visited the center, interacted with the residents, and listened to the grievances of affected farmers.
