Chief Minister Invites NRI Rajasthanis to Join State’s Development

Jaipur, Sept 2025: Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that NRI Rajasthanis wherever they go, spread their culture, ideas, and the fragrance of Rajasthani soil. Across the world, NRI Rajasthanis actively participate in social welfare alongside their professional work. He said the government has taken several unprecedented decisions to create an investment-friendly environment in the state. He appealed to NRI Rajasthanis to invest in the unlimited opportunities available in the state and become partners in Rajasthan’s development, thereby building a new and developed Rajasthan.

Shri Sharma addressed the NRI Rajasthani Meet in Hyderabad on Friday. He said that last December, during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, the government announced celebrating NRI Rajasthani Day every year on December 10. Accordingly, the first NRI Rajasthani Day will be organized this year in Jaipur, and he invited all NRI Rajasthanis to participate. He added that the NRI Rajasthani Day series starts today in Hyderabad and will continue in various cities across India to strengthen ties with NRI Rajasthanis globally.

Special Department for NRI Rajasthanis:

The Chief Minister said that during NRI Rajasthani Day, sessions will be organized on education, tourism, industry, health, and water conservation. The government will annually confer the NRI Rajasthani Award and honor exemplary NRIs on different occasions. A special department will be formed to support the professional and social efforts of NRI Rajasthanis.

Single-Point Contact in Every District:

Shri Sharma said the Rajasthan Foundation has been strengthened, with 14 new chapters opened and chairpersons appointed in the previous 12, making all 26 chapters fully functional. Chapters in New York, London, Riyadh, and other major cities are actively linking NRIs with the government to become development partners. Each district now has a single-point contact for NRI families, with additional District Collectors appointed as nodal officers to resolve their issues.

Investment Opportunities in Rajasthan:

Shri Sharma said Rajasthan is reaching new heights of development. During the Rising Summit, MOUs worth ₹35 lakh crore were signed, and ₹7 lakh crore worth of MOUs are already operational. Efforts are underway to make Rajasthan a $350 billion economy. The state has the third-largest highway and fifth-largest railway network in India, seven major airports, and a key section of the Delhi-Mumbai freight corridor. Over 20 new policies and multiple industrial areas have been created; the Pachpadra refinery will start this year. Land has been allotted to 1,232 investors and 34,000 hectares for 17 GW renewable energy projects, showing the government’s commitment to implementing investments.

Unprecedented Initiatives in Energy, Tourism, and Other Sectors:

Shri Sharma highlighted the nuclear power project in Mahi-Banswara, renewable energy projects including decentralized solar under PM-KUSUM, and rooftop solar. Rajasthan’s tourism potential is immense, attracting millions of domestic and foreign tourists annually. Minimum investment for land allocation has been reduced from ₹100 crore to ₹50 crore, and under RIPS-2024 incentives, from ₹50 crore to ₹10 crore for tourism investments.

Shri Sharma also mentioned initiatives in mining, digital infrastructure, and policies for semiconductors, automobiles, electronics, engineering, textiles, medical devices, defense equipment, and food processing.

During the event, NRI Rajasthanis shared experiences, and the Chief Minister honored those excelling in social service and launched Rajasthani Foundation chapter memberships. A short film on NRI Rajasthanis was also screened.

Present were Industry Minister Shri K.K. Bishnoi, Labour Department Secretary Shri P. Ramesh, Rajasthan Foundation Commissioner Smt. Manisha Arora, All India Marwari Youth Forum National President Shri Suresh M. Jain, Hyderabad Chapter President Shri Pawan Bansal, former CII Telangana Chairman Shri Sai D. Prasad, and a large number of NRI Rajasthanis and entrepreneurs.
