Historic Economic Transformation Through GST Reforms: Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai
Raipur, Sept 2025 : Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai today attended the “Thank You Modi Ji” programme on GST 2.0 Reforms, organized at the Medical College auditorium in Raipur. Addressing the gathering, he said that the GST reforms have brought historic changes in the economic sector, directly benefiting common citizens. The reduction in GST rates has brought happiness to the lives of 1.4 billion Indians.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also honoured Padma Shri awardees and national-level sportspersons from Chhattisgarh. The programme was organized under the aegis of the Trade, Economic, and Business Cells, with participation from the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Raipur division.
Speaking at the event, CM Sai described GST reforms as a bold and historic decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that under PM Modi’s leadership, several landmark decisions have been implemented—such as the abrogation of Article 370 and the Triple Talaq Bill—which were once considered impossible. He emphasized that GST reforms are a crucial step toward providing economic empowerment to citizens.
The CM shared personal experiences of meeting people in markets and households, where homemakers told him that reduced GST rates have eased kitchen budgets. Farmers too have benefited significantly, with tractor prices dropping by ₹65,000 to ₹1,00,000. He highlighted that such reforms bring real relief to households and agriculture alike.
He further stated that Chhattisgarh’s industrial growth will play a major role in building a developed state. The state’s new industrial policy has been well-received by investors. During his recent visits to Japan and Korea, he engaged in Investor Connect programmes, where many Asian investors expressed strong interest in investing in Chhattisgarh. He said that new investments will generate large-scale employment opportunities.
Parliamentarian Brijmohan Agrawal remarked that the GST reforms introduced by PM Modi are “unprecedented and historic.” He added that these reforms are empowering the common man by reducing the prices of daily essentials while also strengthening the national economy. Citizens’ response to GST reforms, he said, has been overwhelmingly positive.
