Mumbai, Sept 2025 : To mark the Amrit Mahotsav birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Department of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation has planned to train 75,000 trainees every year under the Chief Minister’s Short-Term Employable Courses Program. Beginning October 9, 2025, a total of 2,506 batches will commence across 419 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and 141 government technical schools in the state. The first batch will be inaugurated online by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Minister for Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, urged interested youth to register quickly for these courses.

Minister Lodha stated that the program aims to provide employment-oriented training to youth in a short span, generating skilled manpower to meet industry requirements. It also seeks to create self-employment opportunities for youth, especially women candidates and rural youth, by providing large-scale access to skill training. The scheme will play a significant role in positioning Maharashtra at the forefront of emerging technology-driven sectors, he added.

Admission Process and Guidelines
The government has decided to run these courses using existing infrastructure at ITIs and technical schools during off-hours. A standardized procedure has been developed, with an online admission system in place. Twenty-five percent of seats are reserved for institutional students, while the rest are open to external candidates. Training fees will range from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 per month. Training will be conducted in 419 government ITIs and 141 government technical schools.

Dynamic Curriculum
Courses will cover both modern and traditional employment-oriented skills. Subjects include Additive Manufacturing, Aerospace Structure Fitting, Internet of Things (IoT), Electric Vehicles, Solar Energy, Drone Technology, Social Media Influencing, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Green Hydrogen, and Mobile Repair Technology.

Eligibility
Eligible candidates include students currently enrolled in ITIs, ITI graduates, diploma and degree holders in higher and technical education, as well as students who have completed or are pursuing Class 10 or Class 12.

  • Semiconductor Technician course at ITI Dadar (Girls).
  • Advanced Welding, Additive Manufacturing & CNC, and IoT courses at Maharashtra International Centre (Gonwadi ITI), Government Technical High School, Amravati, and Nagpur.
