Chief Minister holds meeting with representatives of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Chandigarh : Haryana government is taking steps towards formulating a comprehensive plan to link  small entrepreneurs from the Scheduled Castes with major industries, aiming to promote the growth of micro and small enterprises (MSMEs). In this regard, Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini held a meeting with representatives of the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) at his residence and discussed various initiatives.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Haryana government is already running various incentive schemes to promote MSMEs. Now, new schemes are being devised to assist small entrepreneurs from the Scheduled Castes, so they can reach larger markets, improving their economic status.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government will collaborate with the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) to develop new schemes, providing opportunities for small entrepreneurs from the Scheduled Castes to move forward. He also directed the concerned officers to study the initiatives run by DICCI and best practices adopted by other states as well.

Department of Foreign Cooperation to prepare roadmap with DICCI to promote products of young entrepreneurs in foreign markets

The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government will also provide assistance to young entrepreneurs in exporting their products abroad. He directed officers from the Department of Industries and Commerce and the Department of Foreign Cooperation to prepare a roadmap in collaboration with the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Department of Foreign Cooperation is already running various programs to provide employment opportunities abroad for youths and to assist industrial units in exporting their products, said the Chief Minister.

Government’s goal: more youth to become entrepreneurs

The Chief Minister said that the government aims for more youths to become entrepreneurs, transforming them from job seekers into job creators. Under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, the central government is running various skill training schemes. Apart from this, flagship schemes like Stand-Up India and the MUDRA Yojana provide financial assistance to youths for starting new ventures. He further said that the Haryana government has also established the Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Gurugram in the state, providing skill training to make youths employable.

During the meeting, Founder Chairman of the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI), Padma Shri, Dr. Milind Kamble, informed the Chief Minister that DICCI is an Indian association promoting Dalit business enterprises. DICCI is a part of the economic vision of Babasaheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, DICCI collaborates with central and state governments to help SC-ST entrepreneurs to move forward, he added. 

Additional Chief Secretary, Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (Sewa) Department, Smt. G. Anupama, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, Sh. D. Suresh, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Smt. Ashima Barar, Director, Urban Local Bodies Department, Sh. Yash Pal, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Sh. Bharat Bhushan Bharti and Advisor, Foreign Cooperation Department, Sh. Pawan Choudhary, and other officers remained present during the meeting.
