Speaker Vasudev Devnani Honoured in London; Says India–UK Ties Paving the Way for Global Peace and Prosperity
London/Jaipur, Oct 2025 : During his visit to the United Kingdom, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani met members of the Indian diaspora at a special event held at the Indian High Commission in London. The gathering was marked by a warm and emotional welcome extended by the Indian community living in Britain.
India Achieving Unprecedented Progress Under PM Modi
Speaker Vasudev Devnani said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is setting new benchmarks on the global stage and emerging as a strong economic power. He noted that India is also guiding the world through its timeless values and cultural heritage. Addressing the diaspora, Devnani highlighted that reforms such as GST, Digital India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat have propelled India’s economy to new heights. He urged overseas Indians to stay connected with their motherland and continue contributing to its growth story.
A New Golden Chapter in India–UK Relations
Devnani remarked that India and the United Kingdom share historic ties, which are growing even stronger under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He said that the India–UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will open new avenues for lower tariffs, wider market access, and a robust economic partnership, benefiting entrepreneurs, investors, and youth in both countries.
Shared Vision on Global Challenges
In his ten-minute inspirational address, Devnani emphasized that India and the UK are working together on critical global issues such as terrorism, environmental protection, and global stability. He said that India’s role today is pivotal in shaping key international decisions, reflecting its growing influence and responsibility on the world stage.
Rajasthan to Celebrate Pravasi Diwas on December 10
Devnani announced that the Government of Rajasthan will celebrate Pravasi Diwas (Non-Resident Indian Day) on December 10, inviting the diaspora community to actively participate and contribute to the event.

Devnani said, “India’s culture is our soul. Wherever Indians live, the spirit of India lives with them. The Indian diaspora are living ambassadors of this consciousness, spreading the nation’s prestige across the world.”
The event was attended by Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, Sikkim Assembly Speaker Mangwa Norbu Sherpa, Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato, British MPs Karan Bilimoria and Krish Rawal, and Rajasthan Assembly Principal Secretary Bharat Bhushan Sharma, among others. Deputy High Commissioner Kartik Pandey welcomed Speaker Devnani and said that the Indian diaspora remains deeply connected to their homeland through strong emotional bonds.
