India’s March Toward Global Superpower Status Through the Digital Revolution – Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Mumbai, Oct 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that through the digital revolution, India is progressing from self-reliance toward global superpower status. In this journey, the role of Britain as a natural partner will be significant. He also emphasized the use of fintech for the prosperity of ordinary citizens.

PM Modi highlighted that India has demonstrated the world an excellent example of a secure, sustainable financial system using digital transactions efficiently. He invited the global community and investors to participate in India’s journey toward becoming a global superpower.

The Global Fintech Festival 2025 was organized at Jio World Centre, Mumbai, attended by PM Narendra Modi and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

PM Modi said that India is striving to make its financial system more capable, efficient, and sustainable with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). AI is playing a decisive role in making digital financial transactions secure, transparent, and inclusive. Due to India’s skill, quality, and innovation, Indian products remain competitive worldwide, making India a strong and reliable part of the global supply chain. Initiatives like Atmanirbhar Bharat have boosted local production, and global investors are now more confident in India. Digital technology has been democratized in India, making it accessible and easily available to every citizen and every region of the country.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the partnership with India drives mutual progress for both countries and marks the beginning of a new era of shared growth. He highlighted the new opportunities arising from comprehensive economic and trade agreements (CETA) between the two nations. India and the UK are natural partners. India is the world’s largest democracy and one of the fastest-growing economies, with more than half its population under the age of 25. This energy and potential are particularly visible in Mumbai. When this potential is combined with the UK, it can make the UK a leading hub for fintech innovation. Investments are being made in digital infrastructure, AI, and data, along with fast-track licensing and new visa pathways to attract global talent. He emphasized that this festival will also benefit business and employment opportunities.

The festival brought together innovators, policymakers, central bank representatives, regulators, investors, educators, and industry leaders from around the world.
