Youth Briefed on Investment and Export Opportunities for MSMEs and Startups
Experts briefed the attending youth on the nuances of establishing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), securing investment and accessing export opportunities at the MSME Investment Promotion and Startup Conference. During the conference, two special sessions were held on the themes: ‘Incubation to Investment: Catalysing the Startup Ecosystem’ and ‘Opening Doors to Export Opportunities for Startups and MSMEs’.
Startup Session
The startup session was attended by Shri Ronald Fernandes, CEO of RNTU, Shri Firoz Khan Suri of AISER, Sushri Pooja Parmar of Equnati and Shri Manish Johri of BASPL. The session was moderated by Dr. Abha Rishi of MP Startup Center.
Panelists discussed the incubation model, mentorship, and investors’ perspectives in detail. They highlighted the rapid development of India’s incubation ecosystem and the improved facilities now available to entrepreneurs. Key factors influencing investment decisions, such as team commitment, innovation, robustness of the business model and market understanding, were also emphasised. The panelists provided guidance on transforming business ideas into commercial success and attracting investment.
Export Opportunities Session
The second session focused on export opportunities for MSMEs and startups and was moderated by Shri Manas Gupta, Managing Director of Usha Agro Industries. He highlighted the facilities provided by the MSME department and emphasised product quality, certification and export readiness.
Shri Rishikant Tiwari, Joint Director of FIEO, provided detailed insights into India’s current export scenario, including export registration, documentation procedures, benefits of export incentive schemes, marketing and market networking.
Dr. Ankita Sharma, Export subject expert, shared insights on international market identification, pricing strategies, packaging standards, and logistics for successful export operations.
