Let Us Pledge to Strengthen Love and Brotherhood This Diwali: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, Oct 2025 : Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has extended her heartfelt greetings to the people of Delhi on the occasion of Diwali, urging everyone to celebrate the festival by strengthening bonds of love and brotherhood. The Chief Minister appealed to the citizens of the capital to protect Delhi from pollution by using only green firecrackers. She encouraged everyone to celebrate the festival in traditional ways by lighting diyas (lamps), making rangoli, and sharing sweets to spread joy and prosperity. She affirmed that safeguarding the environment of the national capital remains a firm commitment of her government.

In her message, the Chief Minister said that Diwali, the festival of light, prosperity, and togetherness, should be celebrated in an atmosphere of peace and harmony. “On this festival of lights, my heart is filled with joy and happiness for all of you,” she said. “Diwali is not merely a festival of lamps, but one that brings new light and fresh hope into our lives. May this festival of illumination bring new energy, immense happiness, and prosperity to you and your family. Diwali symbolises positivity, unity, and our shared aspirations for the future. It stands for the triumph of light over darkness, truth over falsehood, and hope over despair.”

She added, “Delhi is my family, and on this festival, I wish happiness and a brighter future for every member of this family.” The Chief Minister also expressed confidence that the goodwill and support of the people of Delhi remain with the government. “It is with your blessings that our government continues to work tirelessly for public welfare, implementing development schemes effectively and realising the vision of a prosperous and progressive Delhi.”

She further said that the foremost duty of a Chief Minister is to serve the people with affection and a spirit of dedication. “My government is serving Delhi with utmost honesty and commitment. We have prioritised the issues that directly affect the lives of our citizens. By addressing the shortcomings of earlier schemes, we have ensured that pensions and aid reach the rightful beneficiaries, especially the poor and elderly. We are also taking continuous steps to empower our mothers and sisters. Our government is expediting long-delayed flyover and infrastructure projects, while also introducing new initiatives in education and sports.”

The Chief Minister added that one of the government’s foremost pledges is to make the River Yamuna clean and pollution-free. “Work is underway on a war footing, and we are confident that soon the Yamuna will regain the pristine form it deserves.” She also said that serious efforts are being made to ensure a round-the-clock supply of clean drinking water across Delhi. “It is our firm commitment that very soon every household in Delhi will have access to piped water.” Concluding her message, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conveyed her heartfelt wishes to all Delhiites for a joyful, prosperous, and safe Diwali.
