Madhya Pradesh Ranks First in the Country in Tomato Production
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that vegetable-growing farmers of Madhya Pradesh are receiving immense benefits from the government’s incentive schemes. Farmers have enthusiastically adopted cash crop production, which is why Madhya Pradesh now ranks first in the country in tomato production, a crop that fulfills the daily needs of every household kitchen.
CM Dr. Yadav informed that under the Prime Minister Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, small-scale industries based on tomato cultivation are being promoted extensively. The government is also providing up to 50 percent subsidy on tomato seeds, giving farmers significant support. Benefiting from the scheme, farmers of the state are moving towards self-reliance and prosperity.
