Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma meets Union Ministers in Delhi; Key decisions taken for farmers, major benefits for the state
New Delhi Visit of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma — Productive meetings with Union Agriculture & Rural Development Minister and Union Finance Minister bring multiple gains for Rajasthan
Jaipur, Oct 2025 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma met Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during his visit to New Delhi on Monday. The meetings focused on comprehensive discussions regarding Rajasthan’s economic growth, rural development, and agricultural advancement.
During the meeting with the Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister, both leaders held discussions with senior officials of the ministry. Several farmer-friendly decisions were taken, including continuing the traditional tank irrigation system in Rajasthan, increasing the state’s share in the “Per Drop More Crop” scheme, enhancing the symbolic allocation under the scheme, continuing fencing programs under sub-schemes of the National Food Security and Nutrition Mission, and approving subsidies for barbed wire fencing under the Pulses Sub-Mission. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Union Minister for supporting the state’s agricultural growth and farmers’ welfare.
Union Minister praises CM Sharma’s development efforts
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, speaking to reporters, lauded Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s tireless efforts for the development of Rajasthan. He said that under Sharma’s leadership, the state is progressing rapidly toward inclusive growth and prosperity.
Chouhan added that CM Sharma has not only ensured effective implementation of central schemes for farmers’ welfare but also launched several initiatives at the state level. He mentioned that, upon Sharma’s request, the Centre has included additional crops under the fencing program and linked eight low-productivity districts of Rajasthan with the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana. Under this scheme, 36 programs from 11 departments will now be specially implemented in these districts.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Sharma had earlier written to the Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister, requesting the removal of restrictions on tank construction and enhancement of central assistance in several schemes.
Meeting with the Union Finance Minister
On the same day, Chief Minister Sharma also met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for a courtesy call. The two leaders discussed Rajasthan’s economic development, effective financial management of various schemes, and matters related to the GST Savings Festival.
The Chief Minister thanked the Finance Minister and said that the reduction in GST rates under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directly benefited the common people, making essential commodities more affordable. He added that citizens actively participated in the GST Savings Festival, purchasing indigenous products during the festive season and promoting the spirit of Make in India.
