Villagers’ Long-Standing Demand Fulfilled through Efforts of Minister Laxmi Rajwade
Construction begins on two major roads in Surajpur district at a cost of ₹11.39 crore
Raipur, Oct 2025 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government continues to work toward the all-round development of rural areas. In this direction, the long-pending demand of villagers in Surajpur district has been fulfilled thanks to the dedicated efforts of Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Laxmi Rajwade.
On Monday, the foundation stone and bhoomipujan (groundbreaking ceremony) were held for the construction of two important roads, sanctioned at a total cost of ₹11 crore 39 lakh 63 thousand (₹1,139.63 lakh).
The first project involves the construction of a 5.20-kilometre road from National Highway-43 via New Krishna Temple to Silphili–Banaras Road, with an approved cost of ₹6 crore 90 lakh 68 thousand.
The second project is for a 3.96-kilometre stretch from NH-43 via Nawapara Durgabadi to Rabindra Nagar, with a total cost of ₹4 crore 48 lakh 95 thousand.
Minister Rajwade said that the construction of these roads will greatly benefit hundreds of rural families by improving transportation facilities, boosting local trade activities, and enhancing the overall quality of life in the area.
She added that under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is fully committed to ensuring better connectivity and sustainable development by extending paved roads and infrastructure to every village.
A large number of local public representatives, officials, and villagers attended the foundation-laying ceremony. The approval of these projects has generated widespread joy and enthusiasm among the residents of the region.
