The Products of Savings Groups to Get a Rightful Market – Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare
Mumbai : The Department of Women and Child Development has launched an ambitious project, the Yashaswini e-commerce platform for women savings groups, to ensure their products have access to the right market. The platform was inaugurated online by Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare.
Minister Aditi Tatkare highlighted that online shopping is playing a crucial role in India’s retail sector, with transactions worth crores of rupees. To provide market access to women’s savings groups, a pilot initiative has been introduced. As a result, innovative and quality products prepared by thousands of rural, tribal, and urban self-help groups in the state will now be available on the Yashaswini e-commerce platform, offering these groups a new avenue for economic upliftment.
Often, products from women’s self-help groups do not sell or fetch fair market prices due to a lack of advertising. To address this, Commissioner of the Women and Child Development Department, Prashant Naranvare, developed the Yashaswini e-commerce platform through this innovative idea.
Self-help groups can easily register on the platform for buying or selling. They can upload photos of their products, and a dashboard is available to advertise their prices and quality. Information on product packing, transportation, storage, and proper handling is provided to the savings groups. After the sale of their goods, the amount is deposited online into the accounts of the women savings groups.
The Yashaswini platform is accessible to the public, and all citizens are encouraged to visit this platform at https://yashaswini.org/launch.html, as announced by Commissioner of the Women and Child Development Department, Dr. Prashant Naranvare.
