Chief Minister Inaugurates State Foundation Silver Jubilee Celebrations with ‘Bring the Bill, Win a Prize’ Mega Lucky Draw
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the State Foundation Silver Jubilee celebrations on Friday by conducting the mega lucky draw under the “Bring the Bill, Win a Prize” scheme at the Secretariat. The event, organised by the State Tax Department of Uttarakhand, selected a total of 1,888 lucky draw winners. Sonia from Nainital district and Jaspal Rawat from Tehri district won the first prize—an electric car each. The Chief Minister also spoke to both winners over the phone and congratulated them.
The Chief Minister announced that the “Bring the Bill, Win a Prize” scheme will continue in the state. He stated that this innovative initiative has infused new energy and awareness into the state’s revenue collection system. Launched in 2022, the scheme aimed to directly connect public participation with the tax system. Under this scheme, citizens uploaded transactions worth ₹263 crore through 6.5 lakh bills. This has promoted a culture of tax compliance among the trading community and led to continuous growth in the state’s revenue. Today, the scheme has become not only a strong tool for consumer awareness but also a symbol of shared responsibility.
The Chief Minister noted that the initiative has also benefitted businesses, making the trade ecosystem more convenient. The state government is making continuous efforts to further improve the efficiency and transparency of trade systems. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new sense of trust is being instilled among people by encouraging trade, enterprise, and innovation. In today’s corruption-free and fear-free environment, the business community feels more secure than before.
The Chief Minister added that several innovations are being implemented in the state under the guidance of the Prime Minister. Through the “Ease of Doing Business” framework and the “Annual Business Reform Action Plan,” an environment conducive to investment and entrepreneurship is being created. Special focus is being placed on increasing the state’s revenue. Innovations in financial management, efficient utilisation of resources, and maximising new initiatives are being emphasised.
He appealed to the people of the state to always demand a bill for every purchase and to participate actively in the state’s development by ensuring transparent financial transactions.
In the mega lucky draw, prizes were awarded as follows:
- 2 winners received electric cars
