Revanth Reddy Launches Jubilee Hills By-poll Campaign, Accuses BRS–BJP of ‘Fevicol Bond’

Hyderabad, Oct 2025 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy kickstarted the campaign for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election on Friday, accusing the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of sharing a “Fevicol bond” and working secretly in coordination.

Addressing a corner meeting at Vengal Rao Nagar, the Chief Minister alleged that former Chief Minister and BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), party working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy were spreading “false propaganda” against the Congress government and obstructing the state’s development.

Revanth Reddy claimed that the BJP and BRS have maintained covert political ties for years. “The BJP winning eight Lok Sabha seats last year is proof of this secret understanding,” he remarked, accusing both parties of attempting to mislead voters ahead of the by-election.

Taking a sharp dig at Union Minister Kishan Reddy, the Chief Minister said the minister had been actively blocking major development initiatives such as the Musi riverfront project and the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail. He questioned what contributions Kishan Reddy and another Union Minister, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, had made to Telangana.

“Did they bring even a single rupee from the Centre? Instead, they are shamelessly talking about carpet bombing Jubilee Hills. BJP MPs are roaming around the constituency without demanding funds from Prime Minister Modi,” Revanth Reddy said.

Highlighting the Congress government’s development efforts, he noted that the party initiated projects worth ₹4,000 crore in the Secunderabad Cantonment within months of winning the by-election there. He appealed to Jubilee Hills voters to support Congress candidate Naveen Yadav, saying the constituency needed development, not sentiment.

“There are ups and downs in politics. But it will be a historic mistake if Congress is not given a chance in this by-election,” he said.

The by-election for Jubilee Hills, scheduled for November 11, was necessitated by the death of sitting BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath. The BRS has fielded his wife, Maganti Sunitha, while the BJP has re-nominated Lankala Deepak Reddy.

Revanth Reddy also targeted KTR for allegedly neglecting Jubilee Hills during his decade-long tenure as Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister. “The previous rulers looted the state and never bothered to visit Jubilee Hills to listen to people’s problems. People must now decide who the real rowdies are,” he said. He further accused BRS of promoting “drug culture” while praising Congress candidate Naveen Yadav for consistently supporting the poor in the constituency.

The Chief Minister also questioned the BJP’s objections to appointing Congress leader and former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin as a minister in his cabinet. “Why is the BJP so disturbed that Azharuddin has been given a ministerial post?” he asked.

Revanth Reddy concluded by promising that he, along with Azharuddin and Naveen Yadav, would take full responsibility for the development of Jubilee Hills if the Congress wins the by-election.
