Amit Shah Urges Bihar Voters to Back BJP to “Stop RJD’s Dictatorship,” Promises Major Development Push
Patna, Nov 2025 : As the campaign for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections draws to a close, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a strong appeal to voters, urging them to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its lotus symbol to prevent what he termed the “dictatorship” of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Bihar is currently governed by the Janata Dal (United)-BJP coalition led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The state will elect 243 legislators in two phases—121 constituencies will vote on November 6, followed by the remaining seats on November 11.
Addressing large election rallies in Darbhanga and Motihari on Wednesday, Shah alleged that the RJD’s return to power would plunge Bihar back into an era of widespread crime. “Press the button on the lotus symbol so that the violence ruining Bihar can be stopped,” he told voters. Warning of dire consequences if the opposition gains power, he added, “If you make a mistake on November 6, murders, robberies, kidnappings, and extortion will once again become routine in Bihar.”
Shah highlighted the National Democratic Alliance’s development agenda and pledged that, if re-elected, the government would invest ₹26,000 crore in irrigation and flood-control projects along the Kosi River—a region historically prone to devastating floods. He also asserted that Bihar’s overall development would accelerate under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, emphasizing that the NDA alone could ensure stability and progress.
Promising improved healthcare access, Shah stated that if the NDA remains in power, residents of Mithila, Kosi, and Tirhut would no longer need to travel to Patna or Delhi for medical treatment. He said AIIMS-Darbhanga would provide advanced facilities locally, benefiting crores of people. “Today, 3.60 crore people in Bihar are receiving free health insurance of up to ₹5 lakh,” he noted.
Shah also promised enhanced employment opportunities for the region’s youth, citing the development of an IT park in Darbhanga. Taking a direct swipe at the RJD-Congress alliance, he said the people of Bihar “will never forgive those who insulted Chhath Puja,” asserting that the opposition would be “wiped out” in the elections.
Looking ahead, the Home Minister pledged that every district in Bihar would have one engineering and one medical college within five years if the NDA retains power. His speech aimed to project the NDA as the only alliance capable of ensuring security, development, and dignity for the people of Bihar as the crucial first phase of voting approaches.
