Owaisi Accuses Tejashwi Yadav of Insulting Seemanchal’s Minorities, Calls Him ‘PM Modi’s Younger Brother’

Katihar, Nov 2025 : In a sharp escalation of the political war of words ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday accused Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial face, Tejashwi Yadav, of insulting the minority community of Seemanchal by allegedly calling him an “extremist.” Addressing a public meeting in Katihar, Owaisi accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader of spreading hatred and “behaving like Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s younger brother.”

Owaisi said the remark was not merely a personal attack but an insult directed at the entire Seemanchal region, where AIMIM enjoys considerable influence. “Tejashwi has insulted the entire minority community of Seemanchal. He is acting like PM Modi’s younger brother and expressing the same hatred. Lalu’s son says I am an extremist. His statement doesn’t affect me, but the people of Seemanchal will teach him what an extremist is,” he declared.

His remarks came days after he posted an audio clip on X (formerly Twitter) on November 2, purportedly from an interview in which Tejashwi Yadav allegedly labelled him an “extremist.” Reacting sharply, Owaisi wrote on X: “Tejashwi Yadav called me an extremist after seeing the cap on my head and the beard on my face. This is an insult to the entire Seemanchal community.”

Continuing his attack during a rally in Kishanganj on Sunday, Owaisi mocked the RJD leader’s reported comment, challenging him to spell the word “extremist.” “An interviewer asked Tejashwi why he didn’t ally with me. He said, ‘Owaisi is an extremist, a fundamentalist, a terrorist.’ I asked Tejashwi, ‘Babu, please write the word extremist in English.’ He calls me an extremist because I proudly practice my religion,” Owaisi said. This clip was also posted on his X account.

The heated exchange comes as electioneering across Bihar reaches its peak. Campaigning for the first phase of polling concluded Tuesday evening, with political parties intensifying their outreach across regions, particularly in Seemanchal, where minority votes play a decisive role.

Bihar will vote in two phases, on November 6 and November 11. Results will be declared on November 14. With the electoral atmosphere turning increasingly combative, the verbal duel between Owaisi and Tejashwi underscores the fierce competition for influence in the state’s politically sensitive Seemanchal belt.
