Deputy Commissioner Visits the Fire-Affected Site in Lawngtlai Vengpuia

Lawngtlai, Nov 2025: Due to a severe fire that broke out last night at Lawngtlai Vengpuia, Deputy Commissioner Pu Donny Lalruatsanga, who is also the Chairman of the Lawngtlai District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), visited the affected site this morning and inspected the extent of the damage.

Pu Donny Lalruatsanga expressed sympathy toward the affected families and said it was fortunate that there were no casualties despite the intensity of the fire. He added that it was also fortunate that the victims were not gravely injured, and he hoped for their speedy recovery. The Deputy Commissioner informed the victims that all possible assistance from the government would be provided. As immediate relief, he distributed essential support, including monetary aid for basic necessities and silpaulin sheets.

The burned house belonged to Pi Vanlalawii. It was an Assam-type house with two rooms. Five people lived in the house, and all were safely evacuated. Thankfully, no one lost their life in the incident, and none of the victims sustained serious injuries.
