Sports Minister Meets Red Bull Aizawl Tlang Ruam Event Organisers and Mentors

Aizawl, Nov 2025: Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, Minister of State for Sports & Youth Services, met at his office with representatives of Red Bull—organisers of the upcoming Red Bull Aizawl Tlang Ruam 2025 (Urban Downhill Racing)—along with two global mountain biking stars and mentors, Tomas Slavik and Pedro Burns.

Sports Minister Lalnghinglova expressed happiness that Mizoram is once again hosting world-class mountain biking talent and an event of global standards. He said, “Thanks to Red Bull, we will get to witness international-level mountain biking right here in Mizoram. This event will showcase our state to the world, and I am delighted to hear that participants and organisers have praised the hospitality received in Aizawl. Sports and tourism move hand in hand, and the Mizoram government will continue extending support in every possible way.”
The Red Bull India team also conveyed their gratitude to the state government for its support.

The Red Bull Aizawl Tlang Ruam was first held on October 26 last year, from Upper Republic to Hawla Indoor Stadium, and was a major success. This year, the event will be held on November 8, with a longer, tougher downhill course from Upper Republic to ITI Veng.

Top mountain bikers from across the world and from multiple Indian states will participate in this edition.

Tourism Minister also emphasised the significance of the event for the state’s tourism sector, stating that this collaboration with Red Bull could be included in the annual Tourism Calendar. He added that the event would help boost tourism even more than before.

During today’s meeting, four-time UCI Four-Cross World Champion Tomas Slavik said he was impressed with last year’s event and noted that many international riders are eager to race in Aizawl. He also said many riders had travelled to Mizoram this time and would like to continue participating in the future.

Renowned Chilean mountain biker Pedro Burns said, “It feels amazing to ride on these hills. Aizawl’s terrain is perfect for downhill racing and is very different from my home trails. Last year was fantastic, and this year will be even better.”

Sports Minister Lalnghinglova expressed gratitude to everyone involved in organising the event and encouraged the public to attend in large numbers, assuring that spectators will have a memorable experience.
