CM Dr. Yadav Appeals for Maximum Participation in Gita Knowledge Competition

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasised the importance of completing all necessary preparations for the dignified organisation of ‘Geeta Jayanti’ and the International Geeta Festival. He instructed relevant department officials to ensure maximum participation in the online Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Knowledge Competition.

Online Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Knowledge Competition

As part of the 70th anniversary celebrations of Madhya Pradesh, 70 prizes have been provided for this competition. The first prize will be ₹1,00,000, the second prize will be ₹51,000, and there will be three third prizes of ₹31,000 each. Additional distribution includes fifteen laptops, thirty e-bikes, and twenty e-rickshaws. To encourage outstanding students ages 11 to 25, scholarships for up to two years are also included. Citizens, students, and even inmates in prison can participate. The competition is being organized across the state with the cooperation of educational institutions.

Showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s Cuisine and Art at the International Geeta Festival in Kurukshetra

From November 24 to December 1, 2025, the International Geeta Festival in Kurukshetra, Madhya Pradesh, will feature stalls of regional and tribal cuisine. Exhibitions, fairs, and drama festivals will be hosted by the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Folk Art and Language Development Academy. The drama festival will present programs by Puneet Issar and Mohit Shewani (Mumbai) and Shirish Rajpurohit (Ujjain), with tribal dance performances curated by the Tribal Museum.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav discussed further coordination with organizations such as Shrikrishna Pathey Nyas, Maharaja Vikramaditya Research Peeth, Veer Bharat Nyas and a range of educational, cultural, and public relations institutions, including ISKCON, Geeta Pariwar, and Vishva Geeta Pratishthanam. He directed the timely completion of Geeta Bhavans and other related projects at designated locations, and instructed preparations for an innovative programme involving universities, colleges, and school students to mark the conclusion of the Employment and Industry Year 2025.

International Geeta Festival in Ujjain, December 1-3

Award winners of the online Bhagavad Gita Knowledge Competition will be honored at the Geeta Festival. The target this year is participation from 2.1 million citizens. According to the schedule, December 1 at Dussehra Maidan, Ujjain will feature Geeta chanting, exhibitions, and musical performances. The second day will spotlight poetry readings and music, while the third day will have ensemble performances from groups based in Bangalore and Bhopal.

As part of the Geeta Festival in Bhopal, a melodious recitation of the 15th chapter of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita will be held at Lal Parade Ground on December 1, under the guidance of scholars. The programme will also feature an exhibition themed on cows and cowherds, along with a Geeta on Wheels musical presentation by a Bengaluru-based group. On December 2, the Hansdhwani Auditorium at Ravindra Bhavan will host Krishnayan, a special cultural presentation by artists with disabilities.

District-Level Events

Geeta recitations will take place in development blocks across the state on December 1, with scholarly-led recitations at district headquarters. Special events will be organized at prominent sites associated with Lord Krishna, including Janapav (Indore), Amjhera (Dhar), Narayana (Ujjain), Chanderi (Ashoknagar), Jamgarh (Raisen), Piwadia–Khatgaon (Dewas), Eran (Sagar), and various locations in Panna district. Krishna temples will be specially decorated for Geeta Jayanti, and district-level lectures by saints and scholars will be organized. The Department of Culture is coordinating preparations for all these events.
