Link Cow Dung to Livelihood for a Prosperous India: Minister Kumawat

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : During his visit to Barmer on Sunday, Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry, Gopalan, Dairy, and Devasthan, as well as Barmer’s Minister-in-Charge, Joraram Kumawat, attended the Pran Pratishtha and Jeevit Bhandara ceremony at Baba Ramdev Temple in Adarsh Doonda as the chief guest. During the event, he received blessings from Shri Shri 1008 Khushal Giri Maharaj and other saints. Pokaran MLA Pratappuri Maharaj and the event organizers also honored Minister Kumawat upon his arrival.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Kumawat said that the cow plays a major role in the holistic development of an individual. When a person serves the cow, considering it sacred and auspicious, it contributes to their physical, mental, emotional, economic, and spiritual well-being. He added that cows also help in environmental purification. In Ayurveda, cow urine and medicines made from it are considered beneficial for ailments such as diabetes, cancer, AIDS, eczema, and various skin diseases. Cow dung is valuable for agriculture. Cow dung and urine-based organic manure act as natural fertilizers and pesticides that enrich the soil. In villages, applying cow dung to walls and floors is believed to destroy harmful bacteria. Kumawat noted that since ancient times, Hindus have worshipped and protected cows, believing them to symbolize 33 crore deities.

Minister Kumawat emphasized that cows should also be linked with livelihood generation. He suggested setting up cow dung biogas plants whose gas can be used in households. “If we connect cow dung to livelihood, we can build a new and prosperous India,” he said. He added that stray cows are being sheltered in cowsheds, where they are maintained with financial assistance from the central and state governments. He stressed that the practice of abandoning milch cows on roads must end. He appealed to livestock owners to keep and care for cows at home to prevent accidents caused by stray animals.

Chauhtan MLA Adooram Meghwal, social worker Anantaram Bishnoi, Dilip Paliwal, Deveelal Prajapat, Deepak Kadwasra, and others were present on the occasion.
