National Leaders Condemn Red Fort Blast as High Alert Issued Across Multiple States
New Delhi, Nov 2025 : The powerful explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station on Monday, which claimed at least ten lives and left more than a dozen injured, has triggered waves of grief and shock across the nation. Senior national leaders, including Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, expressed deep condolences to the victims’ families while urging authorities to ensure strong action and heightened vigilance.
Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, reacting on social media platform X, described the incident as “extremely heartbreaking and concerning.” He wrote, “The news of the car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station is deeply distressing. The reports of several innocent lives lost in this tragic incident are profoundly sorrowful. In this hour of grief, I stand with the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones and express my deepest condolences. I hope for the swift recovery of all the injured.”
West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee also expressed shock, stating, “Deeply shocked to hear about the tragic blast in New Delhi. My heart goes out to the families who have lost their loved ones. I pray for strength and the quick recovery of all those injured.”
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra termed the incident “heartbreaking” and said, “May God grant peace to the departed souls. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the swift recovery of the injured.”
High Alert in Multiple States
The blast has rattled the national capital and prompted authorities in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Mumbai to issue a high alert. Security agencies have intensified surveillance at critical infrastructure sites, including metro stations, airports, railway hubs, and tourist locations.
The explosion comes hours after a major counter-terror breakthrough by the Jammu & Kashmir Police. Earlier on Monday morning, J&K Police said they had busted an inter-state and transnational terror module linked to Pakistan-based outfits Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. The operation led to the recovery of 2,900 kg of explosives, assault rifles, pistols, detonators, timers, and other material from a location in Faridabad, just outside Delhi. Seven people have been arrested so far.
According to J&K Police, the crackdown was initiated after security forces discovered terror posters of Jaish-e-Mohammad at several locations in Bunpora Nowgam, Srinagar, on October 19, warning the police and security personnel of imminent attacks. Authorities are investigating whether the Red Fort blast is linked to the module exposed earlier in the day.
Political Leaders Across India Express Condemnation
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said he was “deeply shocked and saddened” by the explosion. “My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones in this strongly condemnable incident. Praying for a speedy recovery of all those injured in this ghastly tragedy,” he wrote on X.
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Human Resources Development and Information Technology Nara Lokesh also expressed distress, stating, “My thoughts are with the victims and their families. I request authorities to ensure the injured receive immediate care. Praying for calm and safety for everyone in the area.”
YSRCP MP Maddila Gurumurthy called the attack “a senseless act of violence,” saying, “My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families. Praying for the swift recovery of the injured. It’s high time we stand united against cowardly attacks.”
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao also reacted, saying he was “shocked and deeply pained” by the tragedy. “The report of the deaths of several innocent people is truly heartbreaking. My condolences to the families of the victims, and I pray for the quick recovery of the injured.”
Incident Comes Amid Sensitive Political Timing
The explosion—occurring just a day before the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections—has raised concerns within security circles regarding possible attempts to disrupt democratic processes. Investigations are underway to determine the motive, the nature of the explosives used, and whether the incident is linked to cross-border terror networks.
Security forces remain on high alert as authorities continue combing operations and enhance surveillance across public spaces.
