Raipur, Nov 2025 : Chhattisgarh’s vibrant culture left a remarkable imprint overseas as the Chhattisgarh Foundation Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, USA. On this special occasion, the state’s rich culture, traditions, and folk art created a distinct impression on foreign soil.
The North America Chhattisgarh Association (NACHA) Bay Area Chapter played an important role in the event. They set up an attractive stall dedicated entirely to Chhattisgarh, showcasing unique products from the state, including handicrafts, folk art, and traditional jewellery. The diverse range of Chhattisgarh’s artistic heritage displayed at the stall received immense appreciation from the guests present.
The major highlight of the programme was the captivating performance of Chhattisgarhi folk dance. Dancers dressed in traditional Chhattisgarhi attire mesmerised the Indian diaspora as well as representatives from other countries. The performance was not just a means of entertainment, but a lively presentation of the soul of Chhattisgarh’s folk culture.
Members of NACHA shared that their aim is to take Chhattisgarh’s culture, language, and folk traditions to different parts of the world. They said that overseas Chhattisgarhis are constantly striving to promote the identity of their home state on an international platform. The event provided them with a strong opportunity to reconnect emotionally with their roots.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated all members of the NACHA Bay Area Chapter, saying that their efforts are an inspiring step toward showcasing Chhattisgarh’s glorious traditions on the global stage. He added that overseas Chhattisgarhis are the state’s “cultural ambassadors,” who, while staying connected to their roots, are establishing Chhattisgarh’s identity, culture, and values across the world.
