‘Ghoomar Festival 2025’ to Celebrate the Soul of Rajasthan — Deputy CM Diya Kumari

Jaipur, Nov 2025: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Tourism, Art & Culture Diya Kumari announced that the upcoming Ghoomar Festival 2025 will emerge as a grand celebration of Rajasthan’s soul, reflecting its vibrant culture, glorious traditions, and the spirit of womanhood.

Speaking at the poster launch and press conference held at the Tourism Building in Jaipur, in the presence of Rajasthan Heritage Authority Chairman Omkar Singh Lakhawat and Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riyar, she said that Ghoomar is not just a dance—it is the rhythm of Rajasthan’s identity, expressing the grace, enthusiasm, and power of women in harmony with the state’s rich cultural legacy.

She added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the state government is committed to preserving and promoting Rajasthan’s cultural and heritage assets. In line with this vision, the state will organize the first-ever Ghoomar Festival 2025 on Wednesday, November 19, under the aegis of the Department of Art, Culture & Tourism.

Diya Kumari invited all citizens—especially women and art lovers—to attend the festival in traditional Rajasthani attire, emphasizing that the event would “enhance the glory of our folk dance and stand as a true festival of Rajasthan’s spirit.”

Statewide Celebration Across All Seven Divisions

The Deputy CM announced that for the first time, the festival will be held simultaneously across all seven divisional headquarters—Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, Kota, and Bharatpur—on the same day and at the same time.

Major venues include:

• Ajmer: Sports Stadium, Samrat Prithviraj Government College
• Bharatpur: Vishwapriya Shastri Park and Master Adityendra Sr. Sec. School
• Bikaner: Dr. Karni Singh Stadium and Maharani Balika School
• Jodhpur: Government Umaid Stadium
• Jaipur: Football Ground, Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium, and Jawahar Kala Kendra (for workshops)
• Kota: Shaurya Ghat on the Chambal riverfront
• Udaipur: Bhandari Darshak Mandap and Deendayal Upadhyaya Auditorium

Each division has appointed nodal officers to ensure smooth coordination and arrangements.

State-Level Main Event in Jaipur

The main state-level celebration will take place at Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium, Jaipur, on November 19, from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
Under the direction of Jyoti Tomar, Executive Director of the Gangaur Ghoomar Dance Academy, artists will perform mesmerizing Ghoomar dances to traditional Rajasthani folk music.

Cultural Synchronization and Innovation

A special sound track has been created for the event, enabling simultaneous performances across all seven cities, symbolizing unity in diversity through dance.

Participation and Workshops

The festival is open to girls aged 12 and above and women of all ages, including school and college students, homemakers, professional dancers, working women, and cultural group members.

Free training workshops are being conducted across all divisional cities. In Jaipur, a six-day workshop (November 11–16) is underway at Jawahar Kala Kendra, where expert dance gurus are training participants in the traditional Ghoomar style.

Poster Launch and Ceremony

The event began with the worship of a Ganesh wall mural at the Tourism Building. Deputy CM Diya Kumari, along with Omkar Singh Lakhawat and Rukmani Riyar, unveiled the official poster of Ghoomar Festival 2025, prepared by the Department of Tourism.

The Ghoomar Festival 2025 aims to unite the women of Rajasthan through their most graceful and celebrated folk tradition — turning it into a festival that embodies the rhythm, pride, and soul of Rajasthan.
