Rajasthan to Integrate Natural Gas Infrastructure in High-Rise Buildings

Integrated Efforts for Natural Gas Infrastructure in High-Rise Buildings — Push for Pollution-Free Green Energy, 4.82 Lakh Families Connected to DPNG, 491 CNG Stations Functional: Principal Secretary (Mines) T. Ravikant

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : To promote green and clean energy in Rajasthan, City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies will coordinate with real estate developers to ensure the inclusion of piped domestic gas (DPNG) infrastructure during the construction phase of high-rise buildings.

Principal Secretary, Mines, Geology & Petroleum, T. Ravikant, emphasized the need for coordination between CGD companies and builders across 17 geographical areas where 13 CGD entities are operational. He said that promoting green energy is the need of the hour to combat environmental pollution. CGD companies must effectively communicate the benefits of safe, pollution-free, 24×7 available piped gas and run public awareness programs to reach citizens.

4.82 Lakh Families Connected, 491 CNG Stations Operational

Chairing a review meeting at the Mines Bhawan on the progress and expansion of CGD services, Principal Secretary Ravikant informed that 4.82 lakh households in the state are now connected with piped domestic gas (DPNG).

He added that 491 CNG stations are currently operational across Rajasthan, providing eco-friendly fuel for vehicles. Ravikant directed CGD companies to expedite infrastructure development in their respective geographical areas and focus on connecting not only households but also industrial units with piped natural gas (PNG) services.

Policy and Digital Transparency

Ravikant said that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has introduced the State CGD Policy to accelerate the spread of clean energy and streamline the functioning of CGD companies. The policy ensures timely resolution of local-level issues and paves the way for addressing state-level challenges.

He added that a dedicated CGD portal will soon be launched to make operations more transparent and paperless.
