NIA Arrests Key Conspirator in Red Fort Car Bomb Blast Case
New Delhi, Nov 2025 : In a significant breakthrough in the Red Fort car bomb blast case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Kashmiri resident who allegedly conspired with the suicide bomber behind the deadly attack. The blast, which shook the national capital on November 10, claimed 10 lives and left 32 others injured.

According to an official statement, the NIA arrested Aamir Rashid Ali in Delhi. Ali’s name was registered as the owner of the car used in the attack, prompting investigators to launch an extensive search operation soon after the agency took over the case from the Delhi Police. The NIA’s probe revealed that Ali, a resident of Sambura in Pampore, had played a crucial role in planning the attack in collaboration with the suspected suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi.
The agency stated that Ali had travelled to Delhi specifically to help procure the vehicle that was later converted into a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (IED). Forensic analysis has confirmed that the driver who died in the explosion was indeed Umar Un Nabi, a resident of Pulwama. Shockingly, Nabi was serving as an assistant professor in the Department of General Medicine at Al Falah University in Faridabad, making his involvement in the terror plot all the more startling.
During the investigation, the NIA also seized another vehicle owned by Nabi. The agency is currently examining the car for additional evidence that may shed light on the broader conspiracy. As part of the ongoing probe, the NIA has questioned 73 witnesses so far, including several survivors of the blast.
The investigation spans multiple states, with the NIA coordinating closely with the Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police, and various central security agencies. Officials said that the inquiry is still underway, and further arrests or leads cannot be ruled out as the agency continues to piece together the full extent of the terror network behind the attack.
The arrest of Aamir Rashid Ali marks a major step forward in the probe, offering fresh insight into how the conspirators planned and executed one of the most shocking terror incidents in recent months.
