PM Modi Releases 21st PM-KISAN Installment; Event Live-Streamed at KVK Kolasib
Kolasib, Nov 2025: Today at 1:00 PM, the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, released the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN Scheme — the country’s largest support programme for farmers. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), the Prime Minister transferred ₹18,000 crore to over 9 crore beneficiary farmers from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. During the same event, the South Indian Natural Farming Summit 2025 was also inaugurated.
The PM-KISAN Scheme, launched in 2019, provides ₹2,000 every four months and ₹6,000 annually directly into the accounts of registered farmers through DBT, making it one of the largest digital benefit delivery systems in the world.
In Kolasib District, the installment release programme was viewed live at the KVK Kolasib Training Hall with PM-KISAN beneficiaries from Thingdawl and Kolasib town in attendance. The event was hosted by Dr. Michelle C. Lallawmkimi, Senior Scientist & Head of KVK Kolasib. District Agriculture Officer Shri Joseph Lalnuntluanga briefed attendees on important aspects of the PM-KISAN Scheme and also highlighted initiatives related to natural farming with support from KVK experts.
Officials from the District Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, ATMA, and local leaders also participated in the programme.
