PM Releases 21st PM-Kisan Installment; Rajasthan CM Calls It a Milestone in Farmer Welfare

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 21st installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi on Wednesday—an important step reflecting the government’s commitment to farmer welfare. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the PM’s vision is deeply connected to the development of farmers, labourers, youth, and women. He added that the government is working in line with the thoughts of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to uplift the last person in society and ensure that welfare schemes reach those who need them most.

The Prime Minister addressed the transfer event of the 21st installment along with the launch of the South India Natural Farming Summit in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. CM Bhajanlal Sharma joined the ceremony virtually and listened to the Prime Minister’s address.

Speaking at the Rajasthan-level program organized at the State Institute of Agricultural Management in Durgapura, CM Sharma said that farmers are the backbone of the country. Despite natural disasters, harsh weather, and hardships, they continue to work tirelessly to feed the nation.

Rajasthan Farmers Receive Nearly ₹1,400 Crore Under the 21st Installment

The Chief Minister stated that promises made to farmers are being fulfilled. Rajasthan farmers have already received over ₹25,000 crore through the first 20 installments of the PM-Kisan scheme. Under the 21st installment, about ₹1,400 crore has been transferred to farmers’ bank accounts. Rajasthan currently ranks fifth in the country in terms of the number of beneficiaries.

Major Employment Achievements

CM Sharma highlighted that during the previous government, repeated paper leaks destroyed the dreams of youth, but under the present government, not a single paper leak has occurred. So far, around 92,000 youth have been appointed through the ongoing Chief Minister Employment Festival. The government aims to provide 4 lakh government jobs within five years.

He added that the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit has resulted in groundbreaking of MoUs worth ₹7 lakh crore, which will create new employment and self-employment opportunities.

Strong Commitment to Farmers’ Welfare

The CM reaffirmed that the state government is committed to strengthening farmers economically. Under the Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, farmers receive an additional ₹3,000 apart from the central assistance, taking the total annual amount to ₹9,000, which will gradually be increased to ₹12,000.

The government is also implementing major water management initiatives, such as the Ram Jal Setu Link Project for 17 districts, the Yamuna Water Agreement for Shekhawati, and extensions of major canal and dam projects.

Power, Credit, and Support for Farmers and Cattle Rearers

The CM noted that over ₹41,000 crore has been given as electricity subsidies to farmers, and the government aims to provide daytime electricity across the state by 2027—already implemented in 22 districts. Under PM-KUSUM, nearly 2 lakh farmers are benefiting from solar-powered electricity.

Cattle rearers are being given a bonus of ₹5 per liter of milk. Mobile veterinary units have been deployed, children in schools are receiving milk for nutrition, and interest-free loans are being provided under the Gopal Credit Card scheme.

Rapid Strengthening of Cooperative Sector

More than ₹43,000 crore in interest-free short-term crop loans has been distributed to over 77 lakh farmers. PACS computerization is progressing rapidly, and more than 1.17 crore members are directly benefiting from cooperative institutions.

The CM shared that over 5,735 PACS have gone live, ₹546 crore has been provided in subsidies for over 97,000 agricultural equipment, and 28,000 km of fencing has been installed to prevent crop damage. Over 9,000 PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras have been set up, and girls studying agriculture are receiving record financial incentives—five times more than the previous government. Rajasthan remains a leading producer of millets.

He also highlighted significant achievements in farm ponds, fencing, and upgradation of veterinary facilities, all of which surpass the previous government’s performance.

Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena said agriculture and cooperatives are closely linked, and the PM-Kisan scheme is a major step towards fulfilling farmers’ needs. Cooperation Minister Gautam Kumar Dak said that farmers form the backbone of society and the economy, and the central government has taken historic steps to support them with technology, training, security, and market access.

A short film on cooperatives was screened at the event, attended by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel, Agriculture Secretary Rajan Vishal, senior officials, and a large number of farmers.
