Rashbehari Research Institute Celebrates Chandannagar’s Birthday.

Nov, 2025 : Yesterday, 21st November is commemorated as Chandannagar’s Birthday. The name of this tinsel town “Chandernagor” can be first found in a letter dated 21st November, 1696, which was addressed to François Martin (1634– 1706) who was the first Governor General of Puducherry in French India, intended for the officials of the French East India Company, dispatched by André-François Deslandes and Palle, French officials posted in Chandannagore.

Our national history doesn’t bespeak much about this day of this famous once a French Colony, alongside the historians & administrators and political leaders have been found to be demonstrative in being taciturn while penning the history of this tenrai dwelling unlike the others namely Mahe, Karaikal, and Pondicherry (Now Puducherry) where the foundation day (birthday) is been celebrated with fervour and gaiety.
