Chief Minister attends Gond Youth Introduction Convention
Announcement of ₹5 lakh for social and cultural activities of the Gond community

Raipur, Nov 2025 : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the Gond Youth Introduction Convention organized by the Chhattisgarh Gond Samaj Kalyan Samiti at Gondwana Bhavan, Tikrapara, Raipur. The Chief Minister was welcomed with traditional tribal customs, and he formally inaugurated the programme by worshipping Bhagwan Budhadev as per rituals. During the event, he announced financial assistance of ₹5 lakh for the Gond community to support their social and cultural initiatives.
During the programme, the Chief Minister also released two significant books authored by Shri Vikas Markam, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Tribal Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plants Board—“From Tribal Historical Continuity to Present Challenges” and “Respecting Heritage: Questions on the Global Perspective.”
In his address, the Chief Minister said that the history of the Gond community is extremely rich and glorious. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is deeply sensitive to the welfare of tribal communities. The proud presence of a tribal representative at the highest office of the country is a direct symbol of this respect.
CM Sai stated that extensive efforts are being undertaken for the overall development of tribal communities through the PM Janman Mission and the Pradhan Mantri Dharati Aba Gram Utkarsh Yojana. Several special initiatives have also been launched for the upliftment of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government is committed to honoring the glorious history of tribal heroes. He urged the audience to visit the Tribal Museum established in New Raipur, noting that tribal warriors have always protected their land and culture, and this proud heritage is beautifully reflected in the museum. He added that the observance of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, celebrated on the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, is a powerful medium to honor the legacy of the tribal community.
He further said that such events play a vital role in strengthening community bonds. They help future generations understand their traditions and cultural roots. Youth introduction conventions provide individuals with opportunities to know each other and play an important role in building relationships. The Chief Minister congratulated the organizers for successfully conducting the programme.
On this occasion, Shri Vikas Markam highlighted the glorious history of the Gond community. He stated that the Gond heritage is filled with rich traditions and tales of valor. He noted that Gond rulers made significant contributions to governance, administration, and strengthening social structures throughout various historical periods, which are documented in several historical records. Shri Markam said that under the “double-engine government,” the welfare, development, and upliftment of tribal communities is a top priority. He added that the benefits of schemes implemented by the central and state governments are reaching tribal communities on a large scale. He urged the community to move forward unitedly toward progress and spoke about various activities, collective efforts, and innovations undertaken by the Gond community, emphasizing that collective effort is what truly strengthens society.
The event was attended by Chhattisgarh Gond Samaj Kalyan Samiti President Shri Jaggu Singh, Vice President Shri Kishore Dhruv, Shri Sewaram Dhruv, Shri Hari Singh Thakur, and many other members of the community.
