Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed that efforts to encourage Gaupalan should continue across the state. There must be a steady increase in the number of milk cooperative societies, and all actions by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy should aim at doubling milk production. Significant progress has been made in dairy development over the past two years, and these efforts must be sustained.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav issued these directives on Tuesday during a review meeting held at the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy’s Secretariat. The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairy (Independent Charge) Shri Lakhan Patel, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Neeraj Mandloi, Principal Secretary for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Shri Umakant Umrao and departmental officials. The meeting highlighted that nearly 1,000 new milk cooperative societies were formed in the past year, while 585 previously inactive societies were revived.

Chief Minister reviewed the current status of veterinary hospitals and dispensaries in the state, which now number 1,065.
