New Delhi, Nov 2025 : At the Constitution Day ceremony held in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta said that the day holds immense significance, as the entire nation is celebrating the Constitution, an enduring symbol of India’s spirit and unity. Describing the Indian Constitution as a remarkable document, she highlighted that it is divided into 25 parts, contains 448 Articles, and has undergone 106 amendments to date. She emphasised that the Constitution has succeeded in weaving together a nation as diverse as India, forming the bedrock of the world’s largest democracy.

Paying tribute to Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the Chief Minister said that it was his extraordinary intellect, profound scholarship and tireless efforts that laid the foundation of a robust Constitution, one that today safeguards the lives and rights of 140 crore Indians. She noted that the Constitution guarantees dignity, rights and equal opportunities to every citizen. Calling Constitution Day a celebration, she underscored that respecting the Constitution is the duty of every Indian.

She added that those who carry the Constitution in their pockets or invoke it for convenience must study it in its true spirit, for every word embodies the essence of Indian democracy. She urged citizens to reject politics that creates a divide between words and actions, and instead uphold the Constitution with sincerity and commitment.

The Chief Minister also congratulated the Hon’ble Speaker on the release of the Coffee Table Book, which comprehensively documents India’s long democratic journey. She said that the book deserves to be read by all, as it inspires pride in the nation’s democratic heritage. Wishing for India’s continued progress, she expressed hope that every Indian will advance while holding firmly to the guiding principles of the Constitution. She extended warm greetings on Constitution Day and concluded her address with the salute, “Jai Hind.”
