Rajasthan Rapidly Advancing on Tourism, Investment, and Industrial Development: CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that Rajasthan is rapidly moving forward on the path of tourism, investment, and industrial development. With the state government’s investment-friendly policies and an effective single-window clearance system, investment processes related to tourism in the state have become smooth. He urged investors to make maximum investments in the state, assuring that the government is committed to providing them all possible facilities.

Sharma was addressing the Tourism Department’s pre-summit organized as part of the Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas at a private hotel on Thursday. He said this event symbolizes the collective commitment to establish Rajasthan as a major center on the global tourism map. Such events not only allow expatriate Rajasthanis to connect emotionally with their homeland but also provide them the opportunity to participate in the state’s development.

New Tourism Policy to Strengthen Infrastructure
The CM said that to further strengthen tourism infrastructure, the state government will soon introduce a new tourism policy. This will focus on tourist facilities, marketing and promotion, fairs and festivals, digital and AI integration, skill development, youth employment, and investment, with full commitment. A dedicated policy implementation unit will also be established to ensure compliance. Sharma added that the government has granted industry status to the tourism and hospitality sector, reflecting the commitment to encourage the tourism sector.

Tourist Arrival Figures
Sharma stated that Rajasthan is a land of immense potential. Grand forts, palaces, havelis, the Thar Desert, wildlife sanctuaries, pilgrimage sites, and lakes make Rajasthan unique in tourism. Tourism continues to expand steadily, with over 15 crore domestic and around 12 lakh foreign tourists visiting the state by August this year.

Tourism Sector MoUs and Employment Generation
The CM said that during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit-2024, MoUs worth approximately ₹35 lakh crore were signed, of which around ₹7 lakh crore have seen ground-breaking. Among these, 1,702 MoUs were in the tourism sector, proposing an investment of ₹1,44,625 crore and creating over 2 lakh direct employment opportunities. Currently, 277 projects have entered the ground-breaking stage, with proposed investments of ₹10,000 crore, generating an estimated 16,000 direct jobs.

Shekhawati Heritage Conservation and Religious Tourism
Sharma said the state government, embracing PM Narendra Modi’s principle of combining development with heritage, is promoting religious tourism. Under central schemes Swadesh Darshan 2.0 and PRASAD 2.0, development works are ongoing at Khatushyam Ji, Karni Mata Temple, Malaseri Dungri, and other sites. Projects like Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit, Braj Chaurasi Parikrama, and Krishna Gaman Path are progressing rapidly.

The government is also focusing on rural, wellness, adventure, eco, and tribal tourism, along with cultural, craft, wedding, medical, and film tourism. Effective measures are being taken to preserve 662 historical havelis in the Shekhawati region (Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Churu), enhancing tourism potential.

Film Tourism Incentives and Skill Development
The CM stated that under the Rajasthan Film Tourism Promotion Policy, filmmakers can avail subsidies up to ₹2 crore, with concessions on shooting fees at government buildings and public sites. A new film tourism promotion policy will also be introduced. To promote cultural heritage and eco-friendly tourism, a ₹5,000 crore Rajasthan Tourism Infrastructure and Capacity Building Fund has been created. Around 20,000 youth and folk artists will receive training in guiding, hospitality, and traditional arts under the Chief Minister Skill Development Program.

The pre-summit was attended by Deputy CM Diya Kumari, Rajasthan Heritage Authority Chairman Omkar Singh Lakhawat, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Union Tourism Additional Secretary & DG Suman Billa, Tourism Department Additional Chief Secretary Praveen Gupta, Hindustan Zinc CEO Arun Mishra, and senior officials and entrepreneurs from relevant departments.
