Grand Event in Nagpur to Mark 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib – ‘Hind Di Chadar’

Mumbai, Nov 2025 – Under the initiative ‘Hind Di Chadar’, various awareness and educational programs are being organized across the state to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. As part of these events, a grand program will be held in Nagpur on 7 December 2025, with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, attending as chief guests.
In a recent meeting of the State Exhibition Committee, it was decided that the Indian Postal Department will release a commemorative postal stamp featuring the photograph of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.
The event will take place on 7 December at Suresh Chandra Suri Ground, near Jaripatka Police Station Road, Nagpur, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. To review the preparations, a state-level exhibition committee meeting was recently held in Mumbai, where planning details and exhibition presentations were discussed.

- Bal Malkit Singh, Executive Director, State Punjabi Literature Academy, and Convener & President of the Committee
- Dr. Jagdish Sakwan, Coordinator and Executive Officer
- Committee members: Laddharam Nagvani, Dr. Kultar Singh Cheema, Jayram Pawar, Srinivas Pulaiya, Ravindra Rathod
- Vishakha Adhav, Under Secretary, Minority Development and Wakf Department
- Other members and officials of the state-level coordination committee
The program will feature an exhibition of historical weapons showcasing the history of the Sindhi and Punjabi communities. Over the three-day event, displays will provide information about the lives, works, and social contributions of saints. Communities including Sikhs, Sikaligars, Banjara, Labana, Mohyal, Valmiki, and Sindhi will come together to organize this historic gathering.
A special exhibition of literature and books authored by saints will also be organized during the event. Through this centenary commemoration, the initiative aims to spread Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s message of religious protection, tolerance, and humanity to households across Maharashtra.
