TN CM Stalin Promises Swift Compensation for Flood-Affected Farmers
Chennai, Dec 2025 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has assured timely compensation for farmers and residents affected by the heavy rains and floods triggered by Cyclone Titwa during the Northeast monsoon. The cyclone caused widespread inundation in the delta districts, severely damaging agricultural lands and impacting farmers’ livelihoods.
Under Stalin’s leadership, a detailed assessment was conducted to evaluate the extent of damage to crops, homes, and human and animal life. The Chief Minister personally inquired about the situation in the delta regions and instructed officials to expedite relief operations.
Taking to X, Stalin stated, “We will protect the farmers in the delta who are being further affected by continuous rains caused by Cyclone Titwa. I have ordered immediate compensation from the State Disaster Fund for damage to agricultural crops, including rice, homes, and human and animal life caused by the heavy Northeast monsoon rains since October.”
The Chief Minister emphasized that he is directly monitoring drainage work in all flood-hit areas and assured that the government would provide essential amenities and safety for people living in relief camps.
With these measures, the Tamil Nadu government aims to swiftly restore normalcy in the affected regions and support farmers and residents in coping with the ongoing impact of the monsoon floods.
