Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade Performs Bhoomi Poojan for Bridge Construction Projects Worth Over ₹8 Crore

Raipur, Dec 2025 : Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade performed the Bhoomi Poojan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the construction of a high-level bridge and culverts costing over ₹8 crore in the villages of Biramtal and Kusmusi under the Bhatgaon Assembly constituency of Surajpur district. The much-awaited projects have commenced under the guidance and initiative of the Minister for Women and Child Development, promising to bring a new phase of improved connectivity and development to the rural region.

During the Bhoomi Poojan events in Biramtal and Kusmusi, District Panchayat Member Smt. Kusum Singh, Janpad Vice President Shri Rajeev Pratap Singh, District Vice President Shri Ramu Goswami, former Mandal President Shri Martand Sahu, along with a large number of public representatives, officials, and villagers, were present.

According to the Public Works Department, once the construction works at both locations are completed, more than 16,000 residents from over 16 nearby villages will benefit directly. The new bridges will strengthen connectivity between remote villages and the district headquarters, tehsil, and block headquarters, while also improving access to markets, healthcare services, and education.

With the launch of these projects, the pace of development in the rural areas of the Bhatgaon Assembly constituency is set to accelerate, significantly enhancing mobility, trade, and daily activities for local residents.
