Special Initiative by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai to Promote Tourism

Raipur, Dec 2025 : Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has launched a special initiative to promote tourism in Chhattisgarh, aiming to provide new employment opportunities for the youth. As part of this initiative, 45 young people from the state, particularly from the Bastar region, received specialized training in tourism management and tourist guiding.

Under the Chief Minister’s guidance, Chhattisgarh has been recognized as a tourism industry, with provisions in the new industrial policy and a home-stay policy to boost tourism in Bastar and Surguja regions. To further this effort, a team of 45 youths was sent, in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, to the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Gwalior, for one month of intensive tourist guide training. Upon completion, these trained youth have returned to Chhattisgarh and will be deployed as guides at various tourist sites across the state.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal congratulated the youth on successfully completing the training. The Chief Minister highlighted Chhattisgarh’s natural beauty, lush valleys, and scenic tourist destinations, noting that these assets can position the state as a prominent tourism hub. He emphasized that the tourism sector holds immense potential to create new employment and business opportunities and urged the trained guides to actively promote the state’s tourism facilities to attract more visitors.

This marks the first tourist guide training program organized by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board in seven years, with most participants hailing from the Bastar division. During training, the youth were taught tourist guidance, communication skills, cultural heritage, tourism management, and practical field experience to effectively showcase the state’s natural and cultural attractions.

These trained youth are expected to play a pivotal role in promoting Chhattisgarh’s cultural and natural tourism, boosting visitor numbers, and advancing the state’s tourism industry to new heights.
