Energy Minister Meets Telangana Deputy CM, Urges Early Formation of JV for 2,300 MW Energy Projects

Jaipur, Dec 2025: Rajasthan’s Energy Minister, Hiralal Nagar, met Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramark in Hyderabad on Thursday to urge the early formation of a joint venture company under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed this March between Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and Rajasthan State Power Generation Corporation.

Minister Nagar highlighted that the agreement envisages an 800 MW coal-based thermal power project at Pit Head in Telangana and 1,500 MW solar energy projects in Rajasthan. He added that the Rajasthan Cabinet has already approved the formation of the joint venture company in November.

Under the proposed joint venture, SCCL will hold 74% equity, while Rajasthan State Power Generation Corporation will hold 26%. The projects aim to meet the state’s base-load power demand and harness Rajasthan’s solar energy potential. Minister Nagar requested Deputy CM Vikramark to direct SCCL to expedite the formation of the joint venture company.
