No Shortage of Funds for Welfare Schemes, Assures CM Devendra Fadnavis
Nagpur, December 2025 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday assured that there would be no shortage of funds for the implementation of welfare schemes currently being run in the state. Stating that the government is ready to hold discussions on all important issues related to Marathwada and Vidarbha, he expressed confidence that the upcoming winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature would fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the people.
The Chief Minister was addressing a press conference at his official residence Ramgiri following a Cabinet meeting held on the eve of the winter session. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandrakant Patil, OBC and Welfare Minister Atul Save, Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai, Minister for Soil and Water Conservation Sanjay Rathod, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik and Minister of State for Finance Adv. Ashish Jaiswal were present.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said Maharashtra’s economy continues to lead among major states in the country on all parameters. He informed that around 92 per cent of flood-affected farmers, over 90 lakh in number, have already been provided with financial assistance. The remaining farmers, whose payments were delayed due to KYC-related issues, will also receive their dues shortly. An additional assistance of Rs 10,000 has been given, along with separate compensation for damaged farmland, wells and related losses.
He said the government would ensure that legislative work continues even on Saturdays and Sundays if required, and efforts will be made to conduct over 10 hours of proceedings daily during the Nagpur session. As many as 18 Bills will be introduced, with extensive discussions expected on issues concerning Vidarbha and Marathwada. The Chief Minister also said that investment agreements signed at global platforms including Davos are being steadily converted into reality, with major industries choosing Maharashtra as their destination.
Solving Citizens’ Problems Is the Government’s Only Agenda: Dy CM Eknath Shinde
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said the government has taken people-oriented and welfare-driven decisions, and priority will be given to the issues of Vidarbha and Marathwada during the session. “Resolving citizens’ problems is the sole agenda of the government,” he said.
He added that important discussions will be held on agriculture, irrigation, health, and employment generation in Vidarbha and Marathwada. Since the winter session is being held in Vidarbha, the government is committed to ensuring justice to regional concerns. Highlighting Maharashtra’s leadership in GDP, startups, and foreign investment, he said the state has the highest number of infrastructure projects underway in the country. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a $5 trillion economy, Shinde said Maharashtra would play a major role in achieving that target.
