Life Becomes Easier with the Newly Constructed Bridge in Jondhara
Raipur, December 2025 : The construction of a new bridge in Jondhara has significantly eased daily life for local residents.
The ongoing efforts of the Chhattisgarh Government to strengthen basic infrastructure in rural areas of the state are now showing rapid and positive results. In particular, the construction of roads and bridges has greatly improved connectivity to remote villages, giving a boost to education, healthcare, and livelihood activities.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, the newly built bridge in Jondhara village of Makdi development block in Kondagaon district has made daily life far more convenient. A large bridge on the 10-km-long Makdi–Hatwar Para–Galipara road has been completed in Jondhara village. Constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore 95 lakh 25 thousand, the 43-meter-long bridge has become a crucial link for transportation and development in the region.
Before this bridge was built, river streams would overflow during the monsoon season, cutting off access to Jondhara and nearby villages for several days. Villagers faced severe difficulties in reaching schools, markets, hospitals, and for carrying out daily activities. With the completion of the bridge, year-round safe and uninterrupted travel has now become possible.
Expressing her happiness, Mrs. Jaybati Poyam, a resident of Budra village, said, “We are very happy that the bridge has been built because now it will be easier to travel during the rainy season, and ambulances will also be able to reach us. Earlier, when the water level rose, the road would be completely closed.”
The benefits of this large bridge are not limited to Jondhara village alone — the villages of Budra, Dharli, and Rakshbeda have also gained access. Students, farmers, traders, and common citizens now enjoy easier, safer, and more timely travel for their daily needs. This has also given fresh momentum to education, agriculture, trade, and social activities in the region.
