Continuing this progress, he today performed the formal bhoomipujan for the construction of the Mohgaon–Chhanta–Koko road, a 4.30-km stretch being built in village Koko under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana at a cost of ₹2 crore 97 lakh.
This road will not only serve as a means of transportation but will also become a foundation for economic, educational, and social transformation in the lives of local residents. For villagers who had been deprived of road connectivity for years, this construction brings new hope, new opportunities, and a promising future. The villagers had requested Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma for this road, and prioritising their demand, he granted approval. With today’s bhoomipujan, the long-awaited project has officially begun, paving the way for development across the region.
During the programme, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma made several announcements for the development of the area. He announced the construction of a Higher Secondary School building; ₹3.50 lakh for land-levelling in the school premises; ₹2.60 lakh for a CC road; ₹2.50 lakh for stage construction to promote cultural activities; construction of a CC road for the access route to the cooperative society; ₹5 lakh for graveling on the Chhanta–Koko route; and the construction of a cycle stand for students’ convenience. District Panchayat President Shri Eeshwari Sahu, Vice President Shri Kailash Chandravanshi, other public representatives, and villagers were present.
Addressing the bhoomipujan ceremony, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that strong infrastructure is essential for development, and this project will meet the needs of the local community. He said the government under Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai is committed to rural development. The construction of this road will benefit thousands of villagers in Mohgaon, Chhanta, and Koko. Transportation will become easier, and improved roads will open new opportunities in education, healthcare, and trade.
He added that the government is continuously working to provide better roads and facilities in villages. The construction of this road will not only ease travel but also boost economic activities in the region. Strengthening rural infrastructure is their priority so that every citizen can access better facilities. “We want every region—whether urban or rural—to be connected to the mainstream of development,” he said.
