Facilities of Neurosurgeon, Uro-surgeon and Nephrologist Now Available for Patients at Raigarh Medical College

Specialist doctors to benefit patients; advanced treatment now accessible at the Medical College itself

Raipur, December 2025 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state continues to witness steady progress and good governance, with constant expansion of healthcare facilities. In this direction, following the efforts made by the late Dean Dr. Vineet Jain, renowned city specialists — Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitish Nayak, Uro-surgeon Dr. K.D. Khare, and Nephrologist Dr. Meena Patel — will now offer medical consultations once a week at Sant Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji Memorial Government Hospital, Raigarh, affiliated with Late Lakhiram Agrawal Memorial Government Medical College.

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal called the presence of specialist doctors highly beneficial for patients visiting Raigarh Medical College. He said the government aims to ensure that people receive advanced medical services within or near their towns and villages so that they do not have to travel long distances for treatment, and can receive timely and quality healthcare.

Hospital Superintendent Dr. M.K. Minz informed that:

• Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitish Nayak (Brain/Spine Surgeon) will be available every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Uro-surgeon Dr. K.D. Khare (Urology Specialist) will be available on Fridays in the Surgery Department, Ground Floor, OPD Room No. 01.
• Nephrologist Dr. Meena Patel (Kidney Specialist) will be available every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Medicine Department, First Floor, OPD Room No. 01.

This will benefit patients from Raigarh and nearby regions, reducing their dependence on major cities for specialised treatment.

Dr. Nitish Nayak, Neurosurgeon (Brain/Spine Specialist), will provide consultation and treatment for serious conditions such as brain tumours, spinal injuries, sciatica, severe head injuries, brain infections, stroke (blood clots), back pain, paralysis, spinal disorders, nerve pain, mobility issues, muscle weakness, headaches, limb pain, difficulty in movement, and epilepsy or dizziness.

Dr. K.D. Khare, Uro-surgeon (Urology Specialist), will treat diseases related to the urinary system of men and women — kidneys, bladder, ureters, urethra — and male reproductive organs (prostate, penis, scrotum, testes). Conditions include kidney stones, urinary tract infections (UTI), prostate issues, urinary incontinence, infertility, cancers of the bladder, kidney, and prostate, as well as erectile dysfunction.

Similarly, Dr. Meena Patel, Nephrologist (Kidney Specialist), will provide consultation for kidney-related diseases such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), kidney failure, kidney stones, kidney infections, high blood pressure, dialysis needs, and kidney complications arising from diabetes and hypertension.
