Governor Urges NRI Rajasthanis to Invest in Their Motherland, Linking Diaspora Contributions to National Development

Rajasthan – Land of Devotion, Strength, and Lakshmiputras

Jaipur, December 2025: Governor Shri Hari Bhau Bagde called upon Non-Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs) to invest in their motherland as a way of repaying their debt to it. He noted that the diaspora has consistently contributed to strengthening Rajasthan’s socio-economic framework. The Rajasthani Diaspora Conference serves as a significant platform connecting the economic contributions of NRRs with national development.

Shri Bagde described Rajasthan as a land of devotion, strength, and Lakshmiputras. Quoting the poet Kanhaiyalal Sethia’s lines “Dharti Dhora Ri,” he emphasized that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is also taking initiatives to encourage NRRs to establish permanent residence in Rajasthan. Praising the CM’s efforts, the Governor said that the grand gathering of NRRs at the conference opens up substantial future investment opportunities.

He urged NRRs to visit Rajasthan, assuring them that human resources, land, and all other facilities will be provided in a timely manner. He stressed that Rajasthan is no longer a dry region but a green and prosperous land.

Speaking at the Rajasthani Diaspora Day Conference, Shri Bagde addressed the gathering in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Punjab Governor Shri Gulabchand Kataria, Union Minister for Industry & Commerce Shri Piyush Goyal, Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani, Deputy CM Smt. Diya Kumari, Shri Premchand Bairwa, and Industry Minister Shri Rajvardhan Singh Rathore.

He referenced a passage from the Valmiki Ramayana, stating that when Lord Ram conquered Lanka, Lakshman praised the golden Lanka, to which Ram replied that he preferred his motherland: “Janani Janmabhoomi Swargadapi Gariyasi” – the mother and birthplace are greater than heaven.

Shri Bagde called upon the diaspora to support Rajasthan’s development across all sectors and contribute to entrepreneurial efforts that provide employment for youth. Highlighting Rajasthan’s hospitable culture “Padharo Mharo Desh,” he said the state is rapidly progressing and warmly invited NRRs to visit and participate in its growth.

Earlier, Shri Bagde, along with CM Sharma and Punjab Governor Kataria, honored distinguished entrepreneurs who have invested in the state. He also inaugurated a book published on the diaspora conference and launched a film on Rajasthan. Additionally, he visited the audio-visual art gallery showcasing various departments’ contributions to Rajasthan’s development.
