New MH03FB Registration Series to Start at Mumbai (East) RTO

Mumbai, December 2025 : The Mumbai (East) Regional Transport Office will soon begin a new registration series — MH03FB — for four-wheeler vehicles under the transport category. As the current MH03ES series is nearing completion, the new series will be implemented from December 22, 2025.

Vehicle owners who wish to reserve attractive or preferred registration numbers from this new series must submit an application in the prescribed format. Along with the application, address proof, identity proof, PAN card, and the prescribed fee for preferred numbers must be submitted via demand draft from a nationalized bank. The draft should be drawn in favour of “Regional Transport Office, Mumbai (East)” or “RTO, Mumbai (East)”. Applications may be submitted until 2 p.m. on December 24, 2025.

If more than one person applies for the same registration number, the applicant who submits the highest demand draft amount — over and above the regular fee — will be given priority, in accordance with the Maharashtra Government notification dated August 30, 2024.

The detailed procedure for allocation of attractive and preferred registration numbers has been displayed on the office notice board. Regional Transport Officer Pallavi Kothawade has appealed to vehicle owners to apply directly at the RTO to avoid fraud by unauthorized individuals.
